Local Sorority at Montclair State University
About Our Philanthropy
Since 2013, Delta Xi Delta has raised awareness for the "invisible" problems facing many people today--depression, suicide, drug addiction, and self-harm -- and has given them many tools with which they can get the help they need.
Our sister, Catherine Sheridan #134, officially declared our Philanthropy.
Recent Campaigns by TWLOHA
Suicide Prevention Week
In the Fall, we host a week of events to raise money and awareness for suicide prevention. This week includes fundraising, tabling, and speakers from TWOLHA.
All You Need is Love Carnival
Every spring, we host an annual carnival in the student center quad on campus. All money raised goes to TWOLHA. In Spring 2020, our philanthropy committee was planning a "Somebody Cares State Fair". When we were unable to hold our event due to COVID-19, we converted it to an online fundraiser which raised nearly $1,500
About Our Second Philanthropy
Our second Philanthropy is Friends of Animals!
A non-profit international animal advocacy organization, founded in New York City in 1957, working to free animals around the world from cruelty and institutionalized exploitation.
We host our annual Big Little Battle event in the fall. During Big Little Battle, members from other organizations compete in minute to win it games to see who makes the best big little pair! The money raised during this donated to the World Wildlife Fund. When we were unable to host the event in person in Fall 2o2o due to COVID-19, we converted the event into "Rumble in the Jungle" which consisted of a series of kahoot games and prizes where we raised nearly $250 for the World Wildlife Fund.
